Meeting with Andy today has further emphasized the numerous commercial benefits of social media sites. As a relatively young enterprise, Atrium Studios is still finding its feet in terms of marketing and promotion, and today’s tutorial has highlighted and brought to the fore the significance of a wide-ranging and pro-active online presence. As a result of our meeting, I now understand the performance and effectiveness of our website, Facebook page and Twitter account and have been shown tips and pointers on how to continue improving them. Thanks Andy!

Temps Team are a new business to Ipswich and a strong, functional website is an essential part of our set up. We approached Andy about designing and developing a website from scratch for us and from start to finish we have had a great experience. After an indepth consultation, Andy came to us less than a week later with a web page that met all of the requirements we discussed.  He then spent two hours with the team showing us all of the functionings of the site so that every member of the team can now administrate every aspect, and most importantly, we have a space to post live job vacancies as they come in. I would highly recommend Andy Proctor Ltd for any website / development requirements you have – Andy offers great value, and a really fast turn around.  He has been on the end of the phone and responding to emails at any time my team have needed him in order for a smooth and swift process. A big ’Thank-You’ to Andy!

Attending YoungVoice has given me the experience I needed to not only create websites, but an overall knowledge about websites! Andy showed me every step of a website, from the very first steps of creating one, to massive website databases with thousands of products. The whole experience helped me dramatically with my own business, I can now create a website from scratch and customise it to my liking.

The session given by Andy Proctor at The Eastern Enterprise Hub was just amazing, the knowledge he passed on cut through all the jargon and confusion that is sometimes overwhelming and can lead on to giving up, I am sure there are many budding entrepreneurs who have given up at this hurdle (I nearly did)  I thought Andy Proctors approach to the session was relaxed and easy to follow, he answered all questions simply and to the point leaving now doubt that all was understood.  Anyone starting a business nowadays needs to understand the internet and the importance of a website presence, there are a lot of web hosting companies out there who will try and rip you off, Andy Proctor showed the way to avoid these expensive pitfalls, THAT KNOWLEGE IS PRICELESS and could make the difference between success and failure, he is in my opinion a great asset to the Eastern Enterprise Hub and would make a great mentor for any up and coming student or business.

My business partner and I needed a website for a new venture. We had never created a website before and are a little out of touch with what is going on in the technology world of communication! Anyway we had a super meeting with Andy and he seemed to understand what we wanted and offered some suggestions straight away. Andy built our website quickly and the layout of it was was good. Then we received a 2:1 tutoring session and learned how to administer, add pages, blog and use widgets. Over the next week our website began to take shape. We added images we liked, links and changed the look of pages. Andy was on hand to help whenever we needed it, (I did call a lot but he was always thorough with his advice and patience). We are really please with how our website looks now. Although we still have more to learn about stuff like Google Analytic’s, we are up actually ‘up and running.’ We like the YoungVoice initiative and were glad to be able to provided a website for Katie. Many thanks to Andy we have already recommended him!

‘I had dabbled with WordPress for a personal blog, but the advice session from Andy at YoungVoice helped with converting our organisation’s WordPress based web pages to something much more fit for business. It helped to understand how to tune Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for the site. Andy also gave us practical tuition which ironed out some of the frustrating issues with embedding media images and linking them to information. I’ve found it much easier to update and manage our pages since we had the YoungVoice service’

I always used to use Dreamweaver to build websites and although I was reasonable using Dreamweaver, I didn’t use it to the full. I didn’t know what WordPress was until Andy Proctor told me about it. Still not sure about WordPress, I installed it and had a ‘play’, but there were things that I could not understand so I spent a few days emailing Andy who was very helpful. He then offered to give me some one to one instruction, so I went to see him and things became more clear. After using WordPress now for some months and several websites, it’s a snap to use once you get to understand the way it works. One of the really useful things is the ease of installing widgets – little add-on functions for your website. By using the search feature in the widget section you can find almost anything that you need to make your website stand out. After you have downloaded a widget, you just drag and drop it into the section of your website you need it in, there enter your details and it’s done – easy. WordPress just gets better at every new version, I really like the way you can use your own pictures in the header of your website and that they change randomly – cool. The other thing that you need to understand to get your website noticed by Google and other search engines it Search engine optimisation – SEO. It is where your fill in your website details and how you want it to show up on search engines, again download/install a widget and you can set your website to be found easier by search engines and visitors. You can tweak these settings over time to improve your position on Google, although still a black art to me it is becoming clearer with Andy’s help. My thanks go to Andy for his time and effort he has given me to understand WordPress.

Andy was an engaging and entertaining speaker. He welcomed questions from the students and in return asked them about their areas of study or particular interests. By doing so, Andy came across as approachable and I feel that the students would be inclined to seek further guidance from him when needed.  By building up knowledge about the audience he was then able to relate to the students. He suggested that they could work together and share knowledge, this insight and advice will hopefully highlight to the students that by networking all the help and advice could be on their doorstep…

I was pleased to be able to attend your talk last eve on the workings of Google and how to gain the most from the resources available, I came away with valuable information which I’m sure will benefit business in more ways than one!!  I had been already aware of the possibilities using Google, the difference now, is I’m confident of using the site correctly after your brief lecture have a better understanding of the powerful usage of a blog.  Google is now my friend!

I was very impressed with Andy’s website consultant service.  He came to Best of Suffolk’s offices bounding with energy and was able to explain the technicalities of SEO in an easy to follow way.  We learnt a lot in a short time and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his business.
