When the BBC came to Felixstowe
The BBC came back to the truck stop in January, to film about the driver welfare initiatives that I am proud to lead with, to help drivers feel valued and supported.
I would like to see more truck stops, RDC’s and yard doing more to value drivers.

The Truck Stop.

Felixstowe Truck Stop is a purpose-built driver welfare hub right at the end of the A14, created by people who understand the realities of HGV work. It offers secure, 24/7 parking with CCTV and barrier access, modern showers, toilets and self-service laundry, on-site food and essentials, and even EV charging and AdBlue, all within walking distance of local shops, the seafront and takeaways. For drivers spending long periods away from home, this is more than a layby: it is a safe, clean and genuinely useful place to rest, eat, wash, check health and recharge before the next shift.
