Complete research and build

Everything from wording to images created.

Three site visits. Minimal interuption. All handled on behalf of the boss.

Project Overview

Dave Perfect and Son Ltd is a container haulage company based in Thurrock, operating throughout the Port of Tilbury, London Gateway and the wider container logistics network in the South East.

The project began after I contacted Dave through LinkedIn. During some research into container transport operators I noticed that the company website was extremely dated and still listed a fax number as a primary contact method. The site did not properly represent the scale of the operation, the fleet, or the services the company was capable of delivering.

Dave called me shortly afterwards and we had a direct conversation about what he actually needed from a website. It quickly became clear that the business itself was strong, but the website was not communicating that to potential customers.

The objective was straightforward. Build a professional website that properly represents the business, the fleet, the facilities and the work they specialise in, while positioning the company to attract the type of container transport work they want.

Understanding the Business

In-Depth Insight

Before any design or development work began, I travelled to Thurrock to meet Dave in person.

We spent half an hour discussing exactly what the company does, how they operate, the type of customers they serve and the type of work they want more of. Dave is extremely direct and practical, which made the briefing process refreshingly clear.

Rather than guessing what the business does, the goal was to fully understand it first.

That conversation shaped the entire structure of the website, from the service pages through to the wording used throughout the site. Because I have worked around haulage and logistics businesses for many years, the terminology, processes and operational realities were already familiar.

This meant the website could be written in the language the industry actually uses, rather than generic marketing wording that does not resonate with operators or transport buyers.

Capturing the Fleet and Facilities

One of the most important parts of this project was the photography.

A haulage company website should show the fleet, the drivers and the facilities properly. Stock images of trucks are useless when the goal is to demonstrate real operational capability.

I visited the site twice at weekends when all of the vehicles were back in the yard. This allowed us to line up the trucks and trailers properly and photograph the fleet in a controlled and organised way.

By doing this we were able to capture clear, professional images that genuinely represent the scale of the operation. These images now form the backbone of the website and give potential customers confidence that they are dealing with a real operator with real assets.

Website Structure and Content

Generating the right images

Once the photography was completed, I wrote the full website content.

Every page was written specifically around the services Dave provides and the work he wants to attract. This included structuring the pages so that search engines can clearly understand the services offered, while also making the information simple for potential customers to read and navigate.

Because the wording is based on real container haulage terminology, the website communicates credibility immediately to anyone in the industry.

The final result is a website that is clear, direct and built around the actual operations of the business rather than generic transport marketing language.

Development and Launch

From the initial conversation to the website going live, the entire project took approximately five weeks.

During that time I handled:
• Website design and build
• Writing all page content
• Professional fleet photography
• Search engine structure and optimisation
• Google Analytics installation
• Google Search Console setup
• Search engine submission
• WordPress configuration with Google Site Kit for live statistics

The website was launched in coordination with Dave’s domain hosting provider to ensure the transition from the previous site was handled smoothly.

Continuous Growth and Support

Ongoing Development

This project did not end when the website went live.

I continue to work with Dave on a retained basis, providing ongoing updates, page additions and structural improvements as the business grows and new opportunities appear.

Websites that perform well on search engines are rarely static. They improve over time through structured updates, new content and targeted service pages.

The foundation of the site has been built with that long-term growth in mind.

Project Outcome

The new website now properly reflects the scale and professionalism of Dave Perfect and Son Ltd.

Instead of an outdated site that failed to represent the business, the company now has a modern website that shows:

• The real fleet
• The facilities
• The services offered
• The type of work the company specialises in

Most importantly, the website is structured to attract the specific container transport work Dave wants to win.

For a transport company operating in a competitive sector, being accurately represented online is essential. The new website ensures the business now has a professional digital presence that matches the strength of the operation behind it.
